Stock categories

The first segment of the part number is a category: 902 is Electronics, say. Categories nest under sections (S100 — Components), which exist to organise the list and hold no parts themselves.

This is the Parts entry in the navigation: the item master, by category, because a flat list of six hundred parts is not a page anyone reads. All parts in the corner is that flat list, with its search. Parts is how many live parts the category holds. The search box matches code or name. A row opens the category's parts list (which has its own search box); the pencil edits it. New category, Import, CSV and PDF as on other lists.

Stock numbers are allocated per category, so 000001 exists in every category and means something different in each.
