New demand
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Part | Any active, stocked part. Usually a finished good or a sub-assembly, but a bought part is fine too: planning will propose buying it |
| Quantity | Decimal, in the part's unit |
| Due | The date it must exist by. Required — an undated want is a reorder point, not demand |
| Kind | Order is a commitment; forecast is planned for but not promised. Planning treats them alike |
| Reference | The customer's order number, the project name, whatever you'd search for later |
| Notes | Free text |
Recording demand changes nothing until planning runs. Run it from the planning page or wait for the nightly job.
