Lot or serial number
One lot or serial number: what it is, where it is, what happened to it, and what it is part of.
- Lot: the part, what is on hand, the expiry date and the supplier's batch number. Edit changes the expiry date, the batch number and the notes; the code and part never change, as they are on the label and in the history. Changing an expiry date is recorded in the audit log.
- Label: the code as a Code 128 barcode with the code beneath, as for parts. Download PNG saves it;
/lots/{id}/barcode.pngtakes the samescale,height,text=0anddownload=1. - Where it is: each location holding it.
- Made from: if a work order made it, the lots and serial numbers that order consumed, and what they were made from, down every level (indented). Through is the work order linking each line to the one above.
- Went into: the lots and serial numbers made by the work orders that consumed it, and up every level, ending with each shipment or other issue out of stock.
- History: every movement of it, with the work order where one caused it.
How precise the trace is
The trace is per work order: everything an order consumed went into everything it made. When an order made several units, Through says made 3 and each of the three is linked to all of what the order used. For an exact as-built record of a serialised product (fork RS35-77141 is in bike T29C-M-0207), make it one unit per work order.
